On 12 and 13 November 2020, UCYP has organised the International Conference on Innovative Technology and Social Science (IC. ITSS) and The 6th International Conference on Language and Education (ICLE) which took place for two days via zoom platform.
The collaboration program has involved between UCYP and seven (7) universities from Malaysia and Asian countries including Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (Malaysia), University of Technology Brunei (Brunei Darussalam), University of North Sumatera (Indonesia), State University of Medan (Indonesia), University of Bengkulu (Indonesia), Teuku Umar University (Indonesia), and Phetchaburi Rajabhat University (Thailand).
According to Chairman of the program, Asst. Prof Dr. Tan Li Pin, 21st Century Technology and Social Science; Obstacles and Opportunities in the New Norms Era has been chosen as the theme and it was attended by 98 presenters and approximately 250 participants involving 11 countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Singapore, Canada, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Philippines and Japan have participated in the conference which was held for two (2) days.
UCYP Vice Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin in his welcoming speech highlighted that the Covid-19 environment is not an obstacle for the world to unite, generate, and share the ideas. He believed that the research results and presentations from the two (2) conferences will provide a comprehensive, adaptive, creative and innovative solution to resolve current issues faced by global community.
In the meantime, YBhg. Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Professor Amrin Saragih from State University of Medan and Professor Dr. Nena P. Valdez from University of Technology Brunei were the special invited keynote speakers. These well-known academics explained their respective presentations with interesting issues that are sure to stimulate the mind. Meanwhile, Professor John Adamson (University of Niigata Prefecture, Japan), Dr Robbie Lee Sabnani (National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), Dr. Azhar Jaafar @ Ramli (UCYP Malaysia), Dr. Tan Li Pin (UCYP Malaysia), and Dr. Poonsiri Thipnate (Phetchaburi Rajabhat University, Thailand) were also given the opportunity to share on research results related to Social Science, Innovative Technology, Language and Education.
The conference was divided into three (3) parallel sessions held for two (2) days with 98 presenters presenting their research throughout the session.
UCYP Chief Digital Officer, Puan Suriyani Sulaiman also conducted workshop on Teaching Apps / Tools for Educators on the first day while Manager of UCYP Research Management Centre, Dedi Sanjaya shared his knowledge on Scientific Writing Workshop: A Guide to Getting Published in Scopus Indexed Journal on the second day.
During the conference, three (3) best presenters were also celebrated by UCYP. It was selected based on the criteria fulfilled during the presentations. Among those who managed to win the best presentations were:
