UCYP Academic Service Excellence Award ceremony was held at Aqua Crystal Hall on May 5, 2021, attended by UCYP Vice Chancellor, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin.
The ceremony was held to appreciate and recognize the academic team excellent performance who have served with dedication throughout their years at UCYP.
According to Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Advancement & Quality), Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Hafizan binti Mat Som, this award is dedicated to all UCYP academicians who have worked really hard throughout the challenging years in this new norms era.
“The award was held to show appreciation to hard-working lecturers in difficult years of 2020 and 2021. Congratulations to all award recipients and for those who have not yet received, the time will come soon”, she said in front of 100 UCYP academicians.
In the event, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin empahsized the fact that all academicians have to move forward and steadily reaching the next level.
“This is a very interesting and unforgettable event as we recognize our own talents. These moments will be remembered by everyone who is recognized by the university. We can work together and move together, we must be proud to be UCYP academic staff and show people in the country as well as globally that we are the first. Always have self-confidence and discipline in doing your job.”
In the same event, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin also launched the UCYP Internal Research Grant (UIRG) program that offers a research grant of thirty-five thousand Ringgit Malaysia to UCYP academic members for their future studies.
Academics who wish to participate in this program can send a complete proposal on 1 until 15 June 2021. The research presentation is scheduled on 23 to 25 June 2021. This UIRG program is an initiative made by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Industry Linkages) Office, lead by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Li Pin, to encourage more academicians into research.
