On 10 October 2021, Samsung Tablet and essential goods handover ceremony for UCYP and KYP students from the Asnaf and B40 groups was held in Laman Sejahtera Sungai Koyan, Kuala Lipis, Pahang. This program specifically covered the students from the area of Kuala Lipis.
Almost one hundred guests were present during the ceremony including the students’ parents and family members. The program was attended by the guests of honor, YAB. Dato’ Sri Haji Wan Rosdy Bin Wan Ismail, the Pahang Chief Minister and YB. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Annuar Bin Haji Musa, Minister of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM). The ceremony was held in conjunction with the official visit of “Program Kembara Connectivity ” organized by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia. The guests of honor presented ten (10) Samsung Tablet A10 devices, together with other essentials, to UCYP and KYP students from the Asnaf and B40 category. Also present was the Vice-Chancellor of UCYP, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Bin Haji Zainuddin.
The digital device was a Special Project from Heriot Watt University Student, who contributed Samsung A10 tablets to UCYP and KYP students Asnaf and B40 category, and it was received through Yayasan Tuanku Canselor UCYP, while the contribution of essentials was obtained from FAMA. Yayasan Tuanku Canselor has been actively involved in providing the necessities to UCYP, KYP and KYP Advanced Skills students since August 2020. The contributions include one-month free meals to 100 recipients, 150 Celcom SIM packs with free internet connection for 1 month as well as Sahur and Iftar packs to 200 Asnaf and B40 group students.
University College of Yayasan Pahang (UCYP) and Yayasan Tuanku Canselor UCYP expressed their gratitude to the Pahang Chief Minister’s Office and Lipis District Council for inviting UCYP participating in the meaningful ceremony.
