On March 9, 2024, UCYP hosted a momentous event, the Handover Ceremony of “Back To School”. This occasion not only marked a significant collaboration between the Sime Darby Foundation, UCYP University, and PEMEKAR but also stood as a support for the community’s educational endeavors.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including YB. Dato’ Mohamad Nizar bin Dato’ Sri Mohamad Najib, Pahang State EXCO of Investment, Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation and key representatives such as Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Prof. Dr. Noorul Ainur binti Mohd Nur, Chairman Board of Governors, UCYP University; Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Sri Dr. Daing Nasir bin Daing Ibrahim, Chairman of PEMEKAR; Encik Muhammad Hafizudim Mohd Arif, Project Leader, representing the Sime Darby Foundation; and Encik Mohammad Ishak, Jabor Estate Manager representing the Pahang Region, Sime Darby Plantation Berhad. Their presence underscored a shared commitment to educational empowerment within the community.
This collaborative effort, being the second initiative by UCYP University, Sime Darby Foundation, and PEMEKAR, aimed to ease the financial burden on families in preparation for the forthcoming school year. A total of 33 families received essential assistance, including school bags, stationery, and other necessary supplies, ensuring their children are equipped for the start of the new school session on March 11, 2024.
As the main contributor, Sime Darby Foundation aspires that this assistance will reduce financial strains on families and instill joy in the children as they embark on their educational journey. Such initiative epitomizes the values of community solidarity and underscores the imperative of providing equitable opportunities for every children. Welcome back to school, kids!
