MINDFIT AEROBIC UNITES CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY FOR BETTER MENTAL WELL-BEING
31 October 2025, Friday
In conjunction with the National Counselling Month and World Mental Health Day Celebration at UCYP University 2025, UCYP University successfully organised the MindFit Aerobic Programme @ Community, bringing together campus members and the local community in a vibrant initiative promoting physical and mental well-being.
The programme was held on 31 October 2025 at the Main Campus Lobby, UCYP University, with the participation of 70 participants comprising KESB staff, UCYP University students and staff, Kolej Yayasan Pahang (KYP), and members of the local community. This inclusive initiative reflects UCYP University’s strong commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by encouraging an active lifestyle that supports physical, mental, and emotional health across all age groups.
The MindFit Aerobic Programme featured high-impact yet adaptable aerobic exercise sessions, suitable for participants of varying fitness levels and ages. The sessions were conducted in a fun, interactive, and safe manner, including both standing and seated movements, allowing all participants to engage comfortably. The programme was led by a health officer from the Pahang State Health Department, ensuring professional guidance and the promotion of healthy exercise practices.
Beyond physical activity, the programme also strengthened social interaction and community bonding, as participants exercised together in a supportive and positive environment. The group-based activities helped reduce stress, uplift mood, and foster meaningful connections among campus members and the surrounding community, contributing to overall mental well-being.
The involvement of multiple stakeholders—including KESB, UCYP University, Kolej Yayasan Pahang, and the local community—highlights the implementation of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating effective collaboration and shared responsibility in promoting community health and wellness. Such partnerships play a vital role in building sustainable support networks and amplifying the impact of health promotion initiatives.
Overall, the MindFit Aerobic Programme @ Community successfully created an inclusive, energetic, and health-focused atmosphere that encouraged active participation, strengthened social ties, and raised awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The programme underscores UCYP University’s role as a caring, progressive, and socially responsible institution, dedicated to fostering a healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable community in line with national and global development goals.
