22 & 23 February 2025, Saturday & Sunday

The Pertandingan Inovasi Antara Asasi Malaysia (PITRAM) 2025, held on February 22nd and 23rd, 2025, marks a significant milestone in fostering a culture of creativity and academic excellence among Malaysia’s foundational studies students. Hosted by the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science and Medicine at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) at the Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, this fifth edition of the annual competition serves as a prestigious platform for students, academics, and management to showcase groundbreaking ideas.

Under the inspiring theme “Exploring Knowledge, Inspiring Innovation,” PITRAM 2025 bridges the gap between various public universities, matriculation centers, and residential schools (SBP), encouraging a robust exchange of ideas rooted in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) framework. This initiative directly supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by empowering participants with 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and communication, ensuring that the innovation ecosystem remains inclusive, high-impact, and aligned with national education transformations.

Beyond academic achievement, PITRAM 2025 distinguishes itself through a steadfast commitment to Green Campus principles and environmental stewardship by integrating sustainable approaches into its core execution. The event practiced responsible waste management and energy efficiency by minimizing paper use through digital registration and Google Form judging, while also utilizing conference spaces that maximize natural lighting.

Participants were further encouraged to adopt eco-friendly materials and low-carbon mobility throughout the program, reflecting a holistic approach to sustainability that extends beyond the laboratory. Looking ahead, the success of PITRAM 2025 lays the groundwork for future enhancements, including deeper industry collaborations, structured mentoring modules, and the potential for digital integration to expand participation regardless of geographical constraints or costs.

Ultimately, PITRAM 2025 stands as a testament to the power of collective innovation, producing highly skilled, competitive, and innovative individuals who are prepared to contribute to the nation’s development in a sustainable and meaningful way.
