Embarking on a journey of academic excellence and cultural discovery, the Pre-Departure Program for KIBA-MARA students was conducted successfully in two days, from January 22nd to 23rd, 2024, located at UCYP University Main Campus.

The event was enriched by briefings from the Council of Trust for the People (MARA), Malaysia Airlines (MAS), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM). The briefings aim to equip the students with the knowledge and skills they need to have like essential information on financial aid, safety and security, logistics and practicalities, cultural sensitivity and respect and many others when traveling abroad.

Special invitees attending the program were key figures from Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA)  and KYP Education Sdn. Bhd (KESB) namely, Tuan Hj. Abd. Manab bin Abdul Majid, the Director of MARA Education Coordination Division; Puan Norsazlina binti Che Ghazali, General Manager of KYP Education Sdn. Bhd.; and Puan Hartini binti Mustafa, Deputy Director of MARA Education Coordination Division. They brought valuable insights to the session, making it enriching for all.

This year, UCYP University’s Arabic Language Development Center, Al Bayt Al ‘Arabiyy (ABBA), took on the responsibility of training 100 MARA-sponsored students for the Arabic Intensive Course program (Kursus Intensif Bahasa Arab – KIBA). The program immerses students in the Arabic language while exploring the appreciation and understanding of cultural nuances embedded in the language.

During the opening remarks by Puan Norsazlina binti Che Ghazali, she expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of UCYP University to MARA for their steadfast support in sustaining the KIBA program. She specifically highlighted MARA’s continuous funding, which plays a crucial role in enabling students to pursue their studies in Jordan. Puan Norsazlina emphasized the significance of this financial support, not only facilitating academic pursuits but also providing students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural and linguistic environment of Jordan.

The students’ journey in mastering Arabic and gaining insights into the local culture during KIBA is anticipated to establish a strong foundation for their academic pursuits and personal development, particularly as they embark on their educational journey in Jordan.

As the students prepare for this enriching experience, we extend our best wishes for success in both their academic and cultural endeavors. May their experiences during KIBA serve as a catalyst for their academic pursuits and personal growth.
