13 July 2025, Sunday

UCYP University successfully organized the Program Bubur Asyura bersama Rumah Anak Yatim Permata Camar as a meaningful community outreach initiative that nurtures empathy, togetherness and social responsibility among students and the local community. The programme supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being through nutritious food distribution and positive social interaction, while strengthening collaboration under SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Held on 13 July 2025, from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. at Rumah Anak Yatim Permata Camar, Kuantan, the programme involved 40 participants comprising UCYP University staff, counsellors, members of the PEERS Club, representatives from government and non-government agencies, and the local community. Participants worked together to prepare Bubur Asyura, which was later distributed to the surrounding community.

The initiative fostered meaningful engagement between the university and community, enhanced social well-being, and strengthened strategic partnerships through effective resource sharing and volunteerism. Participants gained valuable volunteering experience, while recipients benefited from nutritious meals and emotional support.

Moving forward, UCYP University aims to institutionalise the programme as an annual community initiative, integrate mental and social well-being awareness modules, and expand partnerships with more agencies and NGOs to maximise long-term impact.

The Program Bubur Asyura bersama Rumah Anak Yatim Permata Camar reflects UCYP University’s continued commitment to inclusive community development, reinforcing the university’s role in advancing SDG 3 and SDG 17 through sustainable, collaborative and high-impact social initiatives.
