The Intensive Arabic Language Course (KIBA) 2024/2025 officially concluded on January 28, 2025, with a closing ceremony and certificate presentation held at UCYP University. The event was officiated by Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi bin Dato’ Dusuki, Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), who commended the students for their dedication and perseverance throughout the program.
Over the course of six months, 103 students under the MARA Young Talent Programme (YTP) and 20 students sponsored by Yayasan Pahang immersed themselves in an intensive learning experience. Beyond mastering Arabic, the program also emphasized leadership development and cultural understanding of the Middle East. This year, KIBA introduced the Innovative Leadership for Young Leaders module in collaboration with the Tun Ghazali Shafie Institute for Strategic Leadership (TGS-ISL). Delivered by TGS-ISL Director, Puan Suhaila Hj Mukhtar, the module explored integrity in leadership, innovative approaches to problem-solving, and strategies for leading in a rapidly changing world.
In his address, Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi highlighted the importance of MARA-sponsored students continuing their studies in Jordan, particularly in strengthening Malaysia’s halal industry. He emphasized the need for more experts in Fiqh and Usul Fiqh to ensure effective governance and regulatory oversight. Given this demand, MARA is considering expanding sponsorships to Jordan, where the 103 MARA graduates from KIBA will soon pursue their studies at institutions such as the University of Jordan, Al Albayt University, and Mu’tah University.
The event was also attended by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Prof. Dr. Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur, Chairman of the UCYP University Board of Governors, UCYP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Muhammad Fauzi bin Mohd Zain, along with other distinguished guests. Their presence reflected strong institutional support for the students as they prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.
In recognition of outstanding achievements, several special awards were presented during the ceremony. The Best Overall Student Award was given to Muhammad Zaheen bin Azimi and Noor Adlina binti Yusri. The Academic Excellence Award was awarded to Muhammad Iman Muhaimin bin Mohd Lazin and Ezza Natasha binti Aminuddin, while the Co-Curricular Excellence Award went to Muhammad Nazrul Iman bin Asli and Qurratul Ain binti Mohd Fairus.
The closing ceremony not only marked the end of KIBA 2024/2025 but also underscored UCYP University’s commitment to producing graduates who are well-equipped for international academic and professional challenges. With the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained, these students are now ready to embark on their next chapter in Jordan, contributing to both their personal growth and the nation’s future.
