The celebration of Aidilfitri holds more than just customs and traditions; it is a symbol of gratitude and an opportunity to share joy. It is an integral moment during the festive month of Syawal, following a month of fasting. In line with this purpose, KYP Education Sdn. Bhd. (KESB) organized this year’s Aidilfitri celebration, bringing together employees and students from KESB, UCYP, and KYP. The aim was to foster stronger relationships and collectively embrace the joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The celebration exuded love, respect, togetherness, and gratitude in a lively and modest manner.
The KESB/UCYP/KYP Mega Raya Celebration 2023 was held at the Main Lobby, Main Campus, University College of Yayasan Pahang (UCYP) on May 17, 2023, with an invitation extended to nearly 1,300 people. Embracing a Vintage Raya theme, the theme showcased past styles or trends that possess unique and rarely seen aesthetics and quality.
The Mega Raya Celebration was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, the Right Honorable Chief Minister of Pahang, Dato’ Sri (Dr) Haji Wan Rosdy Bin Wan Ismail, Pahang EXCO of Agriculture, Agro-Based Industry, Biotechnology, and Education; Dato’ Sri Ir. Haji Mohd. Soffi bin Tan Sri Abd. Razak, Chairman, Board of Directors of KESB; Dato’ Sri Shahaniza Haji Shamsuddin, Chairman, UCYP Board of Governors; Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Professor Dr. Noorul Ainur Binti Mohd Nur, and the Vice-Chancellor of UCYP, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Hj. Zainuddin. Honorable guests, invitees, industry partners, and students were treated to a delectable array of traditional Hari Raya dishes, such as lemang, rendang, satay, roti jala, nasi impit, peanut sauce, laksa, and more. The festivities included various activities, including the Mega Raya TikTok Challenge, the Fastest Ketupat Weaving Competition, the Best Booth Decoration Competition, and others.
The competitions received an overwhelming response from all KESB/UCYP/KYP employees and UCYP/KYP students. Noteworthy competitions included the TikTok Mega Raya Challenge, won by the Branding, Communication & Corporate Diplomacy Department for the staff category and Fei & Friends for the student category. Booth No. 2 from the Faculty of Design & Computing, Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Agrotechnology, International Islamic Civilization Institute, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Student Development and Community Diplomacy) of UCYP won the Most Beautiful Booth Decoration competition. The Fastest Ketupat Weaving competition crowned Ms. Mazlina Salleh, the Manager of the Business and Commercial Development Unit. The celebration then was made livelier with captivating performances, including a dance by the Walinong Sari Dance Group from UCYP and a Raya Karaoke session.
Heartfelt thanks and appreciation are extended to the entire organizing committee who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the KESB/UCYP/KYP Mega Raya Celebration 2023. Through this celebration, a sense of unity and simplicity was nurtured, aiming to reinforce the enduring bond of kinship. May everyone have a joyful Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and may forgiveness be sought for any mistakes made, both in action and in the heart.
