On 5th October 2017, Kolej Yayasan Pahang was invited by CIMB Islamic Bank to the Islamic Commercial Banking Clients Events 2017. The program was held at Grand Darul Makmur Hotel, Kuantan. It was attended by people from industries, mostly the clients of CIMB Bank.
KYP Managing Director, YH Dato’ Norhishamuddin Yaacob was invited to become as one of the speakers during the hi-tea. The program was a platform for KYP to be known among the people from industries.
During his speech, YH Dato’ Norhishamuddin Yaacob announced about the upgraded status of Kolej Yayasan Pahang to University College of Yayasan Pahang. “It is our great pleasure to announce that our application to be a University College has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education. Due to that, our vision was also upgraded. University College of Yayasan Pahang vision is to be a prominent industry aligned higher education institution for the advancement of society in the South East Region. And we will work hard to achieve that,” said Dato’ Norhishamuddin.
“This year marks the 25th year of our institution in the field of education. Throughout the year, lots of changes had happened. From IKIP College to Kolej Yayasan Pahang, and soon to be known as University College of Yayasan Pahang,” added him.
Dato’ Norhishamuddin also shared about the new master’s program, Master in Business Administration, which is a collaboration between KYP and International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW). “The MBA program is targeted to working groups and is open to everyone. The learning center for the MBA program is at KYP Taman Gelora campus,” added Dato’ Norhishamuddin.
“Thank you CIMB for inviting me. I hope this will not be the last. KYP and CIMB have been together for many years. We are like best friends. Hope the relationship will last to the many years to come,” ended Dato’ Norhishamuddin in his talk.
