Dato’ Sri Hajah Shahaniza Shamsuddin has recently been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of KYP Education Sdn. Bhd. (KESB), effective from March 2023. This appointment marks the transition from the previous chairman, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Wan Rosdy Bin Wan Ismail, the esteemed Chief Minister of Pahang, who had led the KESB Board of Directors for nearly five years since 2018. Dato’ Sri Hajah Shahaniza has a background in law and previously worked in the legal field before venturing into politics. She has held various positions, including serving as the State Exco for Culture, Unity, Social Welfare, and Women and Family Development in Pahang, where she was known for her dedication to the people and her valuable contributions, particularly in empowering women and fostering the well-being of youth and children.
On April 4, 2023, Dato’ Sri Hajah Shahaniza made her inaugural visit to KESB, during which she had the opportunity to meet with the members of the KESB Board of Directors. Additionally, she toured the UCYP and KYP campuses, engaging in fruitful discussions with department heads and faculty deans. She expressed her vision of positioning the universities and colleges under KESB as the preferred choice for SPM graduates in Pahang, aiming to provide them with the highest quality education. Moreover, she emphasized the importance of expanding international networks and attracting more students from countries such as China and Indonesia. Dato’ Sri Hajah Shahaniza urged the entire KESB community to wholeheartedly commit to enhancing the credibility, visibility, and educational excellence of UCYP and KYP as two esteemed private institutions in Pahang.
During her visit, Dato’ Sri Hajah Shahaniza explored various campuses, including the main UCYP campus in Tanjung Lumpur, Taman Gelora, and Taman Pertanian. This visit allowed her to gain insights into the facilities and infrastructure, enabling her to ensure the provision of top-notch facilities for students while empowering KESB to contribute further to the advancement of the universities and colleges.
With her appointment, it is anticipated that the KESB group will continue to progress and thrive in the field of education, playing a significant role in the Malaysian education industry. The goal is to produce competent and competitive graduates who will make valuable contributions to the job market, ultimately contributing to the economic development of the country.
