On May 11, 2024, the Rakan Bumi Program: Lestari Hijau Pahang State Level took place in Kampung Anak Air, Kuantan, Pahang. This significant environmental initiative was organized in partnership with UCYP University, the Pahang State Youth & Sports Department, the Pahang State Forestry Department, and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Anak Air. The program aimed to promote environmental awareness and community involvement in conservation efforts.

During the event, 100 saplings were planted around Kampung Anak Air. The activity saw the participation of 15 UCYP University volunteers and nine students from Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Pengembangan Ilmu Quran, Sumatra, who are currently engaged in the International Mobility Program at UCYP University.

The presence of international students from Sumatra not only added to the program’s impact but also allowed them to contribute to tree planting and share insights into environmental initiatives from their own country. This program also facilitated cultural and knowledge exchanges, strengthening ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.

UCYP University remains dedicated to supporting environmental sustainability. As a forward-thinking institution, UCYP University views participation in initiatives like Rakan Bumi as a tangible effort to educate both students and the community about the importance of environmental stewardship. The collaboration between local communities, educational institutions, and local agencies highlights the crucial role of collective efforts in achieving environmental sustainability.

This initiative not only focused on enhancing the local environment but also fostered a spirit of volunteerism and responsibility among participants. Each planted tree represents hope for a greener and more sustainable future. We hope these efforts will continue to grow and positively impact our environment.
