On May 13, 2023, the Department of Branding, Communication & Corporate Diplomacy of UCYP, through the Alumni Relation Affairs (ARA) Unit and the IKIP Pahang Alumni Association, successfully organized the Hi-Tea Gathering, Alumni & Alma Mater: Moving Forward. The event, held at the Aqua Crystal Hall, UCYP Main Campus, was attended by nearly 120 guests, consisting of alumni from 1999 to 2022. The attending alumni included graduates from the Institusi Kemajuan Ikhtisas Pahang (IKIP), International College of IKIP Pahang, Kolej Yayasan Pahang (KYP), and University College of Yayasan Pahang (UCYP).

The purpose of organizing this hi-tea gathering initiative was to strengthen the bond among alumni and enhance the network between educational institutions and former students. In addition to reviving cherished memories from their studies and fostering connections among alumni, the main objective of this event was to instill a sense of love and loyalty among alumni towards their university and college. One of the goals was to encourage alumni to contribute back to the institutions to ensure their long-term sustainability and development.

The event was made even more remarkable with the presence of Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin, the Vice-Chancellor of UCYP, and Tuan Yusof Bin Kassim, Deputy Director of the Pahang State Education Department (Student Development Sector) who is also an esteemed alumnus of IKIP-UPM. The President of the IKIP Pahang Alumni, Shah Asrolafendy Bin Shamsul Hanifa, in his speech, emphasized the need for all UCYP/KYP alumni to unite and contribute to UCYP/KYP. Indeed, alumni are not only significant in portraying the success and achievements of the university but also serve as a measure of the bond between alumni and the institution.

Meanwhile, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin, the Vice-Chancellor of UCYP, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the alumni’s willingness to attend and liven up the hi-tea gathering. He likened it to the alumni’s “homecoming” to their alma mater. According to him, IKIP has grown rapidly and is striving to be recognized as a full-fledged university in the Pahang State. UCYP has achieved various awards and recognition, including the AIGA Award and several accolades from within and outside the country. Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin also expressed his gratitude and invited all IKIP UCYP/KYP alumni to join in praying for the well-being and success of their alma mater, wishing its continuous success and rapid development alongside global advancements.

The event received a warm response from the alumni, as all the attendees expressed their joy in reconnecting with their old friends. They also hoped that through the plans arranged by the IKIP Pahang Alumni Association, they could revive beautiful memories on campus and strengthen the bonds of friendship that had been built over the years. May this event create beautiful memories and encourage a spirit of unity among the alumni and UCYP as they continue to move forward together.
