Kolej Yayasan Pahang consists of staff and students of different races, cultures and believes. Thus, the harmonious among them was emulated by a festival of lights, Deepavali Celebration that was celebrated on 27th October 2017.
The colorful and meaningful celebration was organized by KYP Students Development Center in collaboration with KYP Advanced Skills. KYP lively Deepavali Celebration was held at KYP Advanced Skills, Kubang Buaya. The celebration was attended by all Indian staff and students from KYP Education and KYP Advanced Skills.
The celebration started with fireball performances to welcome YH Dato’ Dr. Haji Ahmad Munawar Haji Abdul Jalil, KYP Advanced Skills Chairman and YH Dato’ Norhishamuddin Yaacob, KYP Managing Director. Apart from that, KYP Deepavali Celebration also received the presence of YBhg Mr. Uganeswaran Cilamuthu, Chief of Putera MIC Pahang State.
“We really emphasize on multi-ethnic and multi-national. That is why we celebrate all main festivals in Malaysia. KYP is soon to be known as University College of Yayasan Pahang (UcYP). Thus, we really encourage the students to respect, learn and understand the different culture so that KYP can generate a dynamic and united community,” said Dato’ Norhishamuddin Yaacob.
“Thank you for inviting me to be part of the celebration. I am really happy to see how our students get along with each other very well. Good job everyone!” said Dato’ Dr. Hj Munawar.
Besides fireball performances, there were also singing and traditional dancing performances form the KYP students. In addition to that, an incredible orchestra performance was portrayed by SM Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SEMSAS) Kuantan students. Before the celebration ended, Dato’ Dr. Hj Munawar presented some contributions to KYP Indian (in need) students.
