This is Pahang – Photography and Drawing contest evaluation was held successfully on 3 and 4 May 2021 at two different venues namely, UCYP Aqua Crystal Hall, Tanjung Lumpur Kuantan and Malaysian Council for Rehabilitation (MCR) office, Petaling Jaya.

This contest was organized by the Pahang State Government through the Committee of Pahang State Executive Councillor (EXCO) Tourism, Culture, Environment, Plantation & Commodities, in collaboration with UCYP, Tourism Pahang and Malaysian Council for Rehabilitation. A total of 46 artworks received for the drawing contest while 371 for photographic works that includes both open and special ability categories. Due to the pandemic era, the photography evaluation was conducted via zoom platform and three (3) panelists involved while the drawing evaluation was done physically and five (5) panelists involved. Those panelists appointed are non-strange individuals in their respective fields either as a professional free lance artist, enterpreneur or professional academics.

The drawing artworks were also exhibited and open to the public. Thank you to the Arkib Negara Malaysia Negeri Pahang that has been very helpful in making the two-day exhibition a successful one.

Meanwhile, in his welcoming remarks, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Ahmad Bin Hj. Zainuddin, conveyed his gratitude to the Pahang State especially to YB Dato’ Sri Mohd Sharkar Bin Hj. Shamsudin for  choosing UCYP as his strategic partner to launch the new Pahang Tourism theme – This is Pahang as well as other programs like Pahang International Tourism Symposium and This is Pahang Photograhy and Drawing Contest.

“The Photography and Drawing Contest that was organized in conjunction with the launching of the new Pahang Tourism Theme supports creative talents portrayed by participants from the very different states in Malaysia. This agenda is vital for the positive growth of arts in our country.

Having  this contest as well as the exhibition are seen as endless efforts to promote beautiful and interesting spots in Pahang that are well known for the natural resources and heritage. This initiative is undertaken in order to further enhance the Pahang State Tourism industry and to create more awareness among the public of the fascinating and attractive domestic tourism.
