UCYP’s Outstanding Achievement: Gold Award at INDDEX 2023

UCYP continues to shine at the international arena as Muhammad Luqmanul Hakim Johari, a Bachelor of Visual Arts student of UCYP, achieved remarkable recognition by winning the Gold Award at the International Degree Design Exhibition 2023 (INDDEX). The event, INDDEX 2023, unfolded over three days from August 21 to August 23, 2023, at Widyatama University in Bandung, Indonesia. Bringing together participants from higher education institutions across the Asia International Community of Art and Design, consisting of 9 member countries and 20 collaborative partners, Luqmanul Hakim’s first-place triumph among seven gold medal recipients stands as a testament to UCYP’s excellence.

Luqmanul Hakim was accompanied by two lecturers from the Faculty of Design and Computing, Mr. Mohd Pirdaus bin Mat Husain and Mr. Muhammad Helmi bin Muhammad Khir, throughout the INDDEX 2023 event in Bandung, Indonesia. Under the theme “From Designer To Future Designpreneur,” emphasizing the fusion of artistic talent and entrepreneurship, Luqmanul Hakim presented the project titled “The Impact of Marketing Videos on the Growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Business: Kopiku.” The creativity and uniqueness of Luqmanul Hakim’s project were the main factors that allowed him to outshine other participants and secure the first place in this competitive award.

Furthermore, this event featured a distinguished guest Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainudin, the Vice-Chancellor of UCYP, as a special guest to deliver a speech on his paper entitled “Creative Solution for the Future Earth.” The invitation to the Vice-Chancellor of UCYP was a recognition of his extensive experience in the dynamic relationship between creativity and innovation in visual communication.

This achievement not only elevates UCYP’s standing as a leading institution in the field of visual arts on the global stage but also highlights our contribution to the advancement of art and creativity worldwide. It is also a testament to the dedication of UCYP’s educators, who have been instrumental in guiding and nurturing our students to achieve remarkable accomplishments.
