In a move that marks an exciting milestone for international academic collaboration, UCYP University has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yantai Vocational College (YTVC), China. The hybrid signing ceremony was held on 12 March 2025, connecting both institutions virtually and in person at UCYP University.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Datoโ€™ Dr. Muhammad Fauzi bin Mohd Zain, Vice-Chancellor UCYP University, and Mr. Shao Xia, Vice-Chancellor YTVC, China. This collaboration highlights the universitiesโ€™ shared goal of providing students and faculty with greater global opportunities and more industry-focused education, especially in the rapidly growing Electric Vehicle (EV) sector.

Also present during the ceremony were Asst. Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Hamisa Abdul Hamid, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of UCYP University; Dr. Low Hock Heng, Chairman of MSD Infiniti Sdn. Bhd.; as well as representatives from Pahang Corporate Management Services Sdn. Bhd. Their presence reflects the strong support from both academia and industry for this meaningful partnership.

YTVC, located in Shandong Province, China and operating under the Yantai Municipal Peopleโ€™s Government, is a well-known vocational institution with strong programs in EV education and training. This positions them as a valuable partner in equipping UCYP University students with relevant and current industry skills

Therefore, under this MoU, UCYP University and YTVC will work together in areas such as joint academic programs, student and faculty exchange, research, and skills development. One of the key focuses of the partnership is Electric Vehicle (EV) technology, where both institutions will develop training and attachment programs in collaboration with industry partners.

Students will have the opportunity to join international exchange programs, allowing them to gain hands-on experience and global exposure. At the same time, faculty members can benefit from initiatives like the โ€œtrain-the-trainerโ€ program, which will enable them to expand their knowledge in EV technologies directly from experts in China.

This partnership demonstrates UCYP Universityโ€™s ongoing effort to internationalize its academic ecosystem and ensure its graduates are well-prepared for global job markets. By partnering with a reputable international institution like YTVC, UCYP University is taking another big step in aligning academic programs with current and future industry demands.
