UCYP University’s Runner-Up Triumph at MASISWA East Zone Championship 2023

In the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence, UCYP University emerged as a powerhouse at the Majlis Sukan Institusi Swasta (MASISWA) East Zone Championship 2023 held from 1st to 3rd December 2023. Hosted by Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Kota Bharu at the lively Kompleks Belia and Sukan Panji in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, the championship witnessed intense competition among 18 private higher education institutions (IPTS).

UCYP University’s outstanding performance was nothing short of remarkable as the university clinched a total of 3 gold and 3 bronze medals, securing the prestigious title of the overall runner-up. This accomplishment attests to UCYP University’s commitment to excellence and sportsmanship, marking the best performance since its initial participation in 2008.

A formidable contingent of 55 athletes, accompanied by 10 dedicated officials, represented UCYP University across six events: futsal, netball, women volleyball, chess, table tennis, and badminton. The achievements of the UCYP University contingent are a source of pride for the university, showcasing the exceptional talents and dedication of the participants.

Highlighting the moments of triumph, UCYP proudly earned a collection of prestigious medals. The gold medals were secured by the exceptional Chess Team (Men) comprising Soon Lip Kian (Diploma in Business Management), Nasrul Mustaqim bin Jumaat (Bachelor of Shariah), Adam Mukhlis bin Nadzmi (Bachelor of Shariah) and Muhammad Irfan bin Mohd Faisol (Bachelor of Islamic Management). Soon Lip Kian also clinched an individual gold in Chess (Men). Another gold was achieved in Individual Table Tennis (Women) by Nur Safirah Rasyiqah Safiruz, a student of Diploma in New Media Marketing. Adding to the glory were the bronze medals earned in Individual Table Tennis (Men), Table Tennis Team (Men) and Women’s Volleyball.

The success of UCYP University at the MASISWA East Zone Championship 2023 mirrors the university’s dedication to holistic development and nurturing talents in various fields.
